What Is a Canvas Print?

12 October 2025·4 min read

A canvas print is an image printed onto artist’s canvas and stretched over a timber frame — ready to hang, no glass or framing required.

What canvas does well

  • A soft, textured, gallery-style finish that reads as “art”.
  • No glass — no glare and nothing to shatter.
  • Lightweight and easy to hang straight out of the box.

Where it falls short

  • Canvas can slacken or ripple over time, especially in humidity.
  • The weave slightly softens fine detail and vivid colour.
  • It’s harder to clean — you can’t really wipe it.

Tip: For high-detail photos or bold colour in a humid room, a rigid Crystal Board holds up better and wipes clean.
