Framed vs Frameless: How to Display Your Posters

3 November 2025·4 min read

A frame changes everything about how a poster reads — from casual to considered. Here’s how to decide, and how to get the framed look for less.

When a frame is worth it

  • Formal rooms — living, dining, entryways — where you want a finished look.
  • Fine-art or photographic prints that deserve protection from light and dust.
  • Anywhere you want depth: a mat border makes even a small print feel gallery-grade.

When frameless wins

  • Rentals and share houses — lighter and easier to move.
  • Playful, poster-forward spaces (studios, kids’ rooms, offices).
  • Rotating displays you like to swap seasonally.

The budget middle ground

Poster hangers (two magnetic timber rails, top and bottom) give a crisp, framed-ish silhouette for a fraction of the cost — and suit portrait posters especially well.
